American actor and transgender rights advocate Dylan Mulvaney is well-known for documenting her gender transition in daily videos on the social media site TikTok. Now Dylan has more than 10 million TikTok followers and the video series, titled Days of Girlhood, has received over one billion views.
Dylan Mulvaney was born on December 29, 1996. Dylan earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in musical theater from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati in 2019.
After graduating from college, Mulvaney’s first significant performance was as Elder White in the musical The Book of Mormon. After that Dylan did Broadway and off-Broadway roles.
While the COVID-19 pandemic was going on, Mulvaney came out as a Trans woman. Dylan began documenting her gender transition in March 2022 in a daily TikTok video series titled “Days of Girlhood.”.
In October 2022, Mulvaney met with President Joe Biden for a “presidential forum” for the online news organization NowThis News. When Mulvaney asked President Biden about recent legislation restricting gender-affirming care for transgender youth by Republican-led legislatures, Biden described them as “outrageous” and “immoral”.
Mulvaney asked the President whether the US should have the right to ban transition-related care, and Biden responded no.
“I don’t think any state or anybody should have the right to do that,” the President said.”As a moral question and as a legal question, I just think it’s wrong.”
Following the meeting with Biden, Dylan became the target of a “vitriol campaign” by “right-wing activists”.
Caitlyn Jenner slammed Dylan Mulvaney for telling ‘normalize the bulge’. Jenner wrote on Twitter “Let’s not ‘normalize’ any of what this person is doing. This is absurdity!”
Dylan later replied to Kaitlyn Jenner in a TikTik video.
In December 2022, Mulvaney shared via Instagram that she had undertaken facial feminization surgery. On December 21, Mulvaney posted pictures from her hospital bed, saying it was time to “let the healing begin.” She also thanked the doctors for taking good care of her. She also included notes, to her old face and to her new face.
